Jack Bootle grew out of a frustration I experienced finding quality shirts. 

Regular, off-the-rack shirts that fitted my neck were either too short in the arms (ok, I have long arms) or were too baggy in the body (thanks to the delayed onset of middle aged spread).

When I eventually found a shirt that I liked it invariably wasn't available in my size, it had the wrong style collar and cuff or I realised it was the same shirt that everyone else was wearing. Despite the young shop assistant insisting "the shirt looks great on you" I knew it just wasn't quite right.

Having done this several times I thought there has to be a better way. And the rest as they say is history....

I know what I want in a shirt and I don't want to spend all day trying to find it.

I want a shirt made of quality cotton that fits me really well and that I can personalise so that I don't look just the same as everyone else. I like lots of choice, with some gentle guidance and to do it in my own time. I want to be able to order the same shirt time and time again or to make changes if the mood or occasion takes me.
